There is a great demand for an after-school therapeutic horseback riding program for children with special needs living in the New York metropolitan area. In order to fill this important need, the New York Therapeutic Riding Center is now expanding its operations to include the new Equestria After-School Therapeutic Riding Program For Children With Special Needs.
It is widely recognized by health care professionals that therapeutic horseback riding plays a vital role in special education, recreation and rehabilitation programs for disabled children.
During the course of the new Equestria After-School Therapeutic Riding Program, children with special needs will be taught the equestrian skills needed to become good riders, while horseback riding activities are being used to facilitate specific educational and therapeutic goals for these children.
